London Sommelier Breakfast Tasting

Wines of Germany is running the second of its series of Sommelier Breakfast Tastings in London at La Pont de la Tour by kind permission of head sommelier, Walter Speller. The tasting will focus on different styles of Riesling from five of Germany’s wine regions, in addition to which sommeliers will have the opportunity to taste one of Germany’s exquisite Pinot Noirs. All the wines tasted will be readily available to the on-trade in London. Speakers at the tasting are to include Eva Fricke, cellar master from top Rheingau winery Weingut Leitz. The tasting has been scheduled to coincide with the London International Trade Fair and Wines of Germany will provide taxis for those sommeliers wishing to go straight to the ExCel exhibition centre after the tasting.

Wines of Germany will once again host the Riesling & Co. Room at this year’s trade fair. The stand will exhibit approximately 70 wines from Germany’s thirteen wine regions, including a selection of wines available on the ‘high street’. In addition, Wines of Germany will be running the acclaimed International Reviews, showcasing the best wines produced from Riesling and Pinot Noir from around the world. The reviews will take the form of three comparative tastings held on the stand and will be tutored by representatives from the estates involved.

Annual Grosser Ring Mosel Saar Ruwer London Tasting

This year sees the 100 year anniversary of the Grosser Ring Mosel Saar Ruwer and in celebration the president of the Grosser Ring VDP Mosel Saar Ruwer, Eberhard van Kunow, is inviting members of the trade to the Annual London Tasting on 11 June 2008 at the German Ambassadors Residence, 22 Belgrave Square, London SW1.
The tasting will run from 11am to 5pm and those wishing to attend should RSVP by 4 June 2008.
Renowned VDP wine estate of the Mosel, Saar, Ruwer and Nahe will present a selection of latest release and mature vintage Rieslings.
