POSITIVE STATISTICS PRESS RELEASE
Wines of Germany issued a press release commenting on the latest sales data from UK showing that wine loving Brits are finally developing a taste for good quality German wines. AC Nielsen sales data shows that retail sales of German wine above £6 have grown dramatically (+89%) in the last three years, well above the general increase for wine sales in this price bracket (+16%) in the same period. CONSUMER MEDIA RELATIONS - WORLD CUP 2006
We will be targeting the travel, lifestyle and food/drink sections of long lead, key regional and national titles to encourage them to write about what to do in Germany during the World Cup, including details of wineries to visit and wine tours.
We are organising a press drop of a selection of German wines accompanied by a football shirt with the journalist’s name on the back and the Wines of Germany logo as the sponsor logo on the front of the shirt. This will be aimed at national and regional wine writers, encouraging them to feature German wine recommendations in the run up to the World Cup.
