Are you a Riesling short of a picnic?18 July 2008
Blog 18 July – Natalie Summer is finally here, and that can only mean one thing – Wines of Germany’s summer sampling campaign! We got off to a great start last weekend, where we poured more than 7,500 samples to over 10,000 people at Arley Hall in Cheshire and Tonbridge Castle in Kent, and we’ve got plenty more still to come. This year is our biggest-ever sampling campaign, and as a result, this summer you can find us at more venues than ever, where we’ll be pouring delicious German wines to over 125,000 people while listening to The Feeling, Jools Holland, The Levellers, Lesley Garrett, and Queen’s Symphonic Spectacular, to name but a few. With teams of people in bright (dare I say unflattering) yellow t-shirts out among the crowds, we’ll be very visible, and as those teams will be offering free wine samples, I imagine we’ll also prove very popular! People always seem keen for some concert “mementoes” (a.k.a. freebies) so for August we’re fully prepared for the glorious British summer by offering… rain ponchos. After all that, I rather fancy a glass of wine – German Riesling anyone?
