Moselland

Formed in 1969, Moselland is the largest wine-growing cooperative in the state of Rheinland-Pfalz. It has almost 3,300 member-growers cultivating around 2,350 hectares in the Mosel, Nahe, Pfalz and Rheinhessen regions, with the majority of vineyards being steep and, as a result, labour intensive. Over 50% of this area is planted with Riesling, making Moselland one of the largest producers of Riesling worldwide today.

With many years' experience of making excellent wines from this ‘noble grape’, Moselland are proud to call themselves "Die Rieslingexperten". Specialising in Riesling, however, does not rule out diversity and Moselland produces a range of varieties including Elbling, Rivaner, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, as well as two red varieties - Pinot Noir and Dornfelder.

Moselland’s wines have, for years, enjoyed an enviable reputation both in the German and international wine market, and have won numerous awards. The 2006 Moselland Akzente Riesling Halbtrocken, Moselland's best selling Riesling in the domestic market, was recently awarded a Gold Medal at the 2007 MUNDUSvini International Wine Awards. The 2005 Moselland Riesling Auslese, which sells in over 15 international markets, was also awarded a silver medal.
